THE USA COMMEMORATED THE ANNUAL RECALL TO MEMORY OF ITS INDEPENDENCE DAY ON THE 4TH OF JULY WITH RACES FIREWORKS AND FESTIVALS AND IN ATLANTA GEORGIA THE OBSERVATION OF THE INDEPENDENCE DAY HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE PEACHTREE ROAD RACE.
The USA commemorated the annual recall of its Independence day on the 4th of July with races, fireworks and festivals. In Atlanta/Georgia the observation of the Indepence day has been associated with the Peachtree Road Race which its ten kilometers (10km) track course has been placed on one of the city's main roads from which the name of the well known race, the Peachtree Road Race had been derived . An estimated number of over fifty nine thousand athletes from Atlanta/Georgia and many countries around the world participated in the race . Specific figures on the participants of the race revealed that ninety eight percent (98%) of the athletes came from Georgia, other USA States and two percent came from different countries around the world that included the European countries, Russia, the Middle Eastern countries, the Arab world and African countries. Unfortunately, the championship of the race has not been won by the majority of the participants of the race, instead it went to the only two percent participants of the race and specifically the champions of the the Peachtree Road Race in the year 2011 went to Sammy Kiwara from Kenya for the male athletes who reached the finish line in 28:05 and for the female athletesthe championship of the race went to Werknesh Kidane of Ethiopia in 31:23. However, the Peachtree Road Race would be a pleasant surprise in the next year competition for many people in Georgia and in the USA, when the Doraville Professor take the championship of the race from both the Kenyans and the Ethiopians.
