HIGHER STAKES IN OFFSHORE DRILLING HAS BEEN SET OFF THE TABLE OF MAJOR USA COMPANIES ON THE LUCRATIVE CRUDE OIL BUSINESS BY THE GOVERNMENT'S PLAN TO LIMIT OFFSHORE DRILLING.

Higher stakes in offshore drilling has been setoff the tables of major USA companies on the crude oil business by the government's plan to limit offshore gas and crude oil drilling in the USA. This in return may affect the USA energy policy intended to reduce the country's dependency on foreign oil and to meet the rising high demand on on electric power in the USA. However, the effort being exerted towards alternative energy sources such as wind and solar energy for the required energy independency has remained ineffective to meet the rising demand on electric power consumption in the USA.
