THE FOURTH (4TH) OF JULY AND THE PEACHTREE ROAD RACE.

The USA observes annually its independence day with a public holiday and various types of festivities dedicated to the celebration of the independence day on the fourth (4th) of July.
Georgia State in particular dedicates various forms of festivities to the celebration of the independence day that entails the Peachtree Road Race. Over fifty five participants have taken part in the race that started at Lenox square along the six and half miles stretch on the Peachtree road and the 1oth street to the finish line. The Ethiopian athlete Gebre Gebremariam and the Kenyan athlete Peter won the championship of the race in 27 minutes 56 seconds for the male athletes, while the Kenyan athlete Lineth won the championship in 30 minute 51 seconds for the female athletes.
