Jacques Chirac controversial trial based on corruption charges and the continuous rescheduling of the time period for hearing caused a split in the French communities and societies. The demand for his acquittal based on his position as the first French President and on the case that exceeded the limit of the required time for the charges against corruption during his Presidency has been regarded by some French people as a violation that may undermine the French people judicial system.
