THE AREAS IN AND AROUND TRIPOLI HAVE BEEN STRONGLY FORTIFIED BY THE LIBYAN FORCES LOYAL TO PRESIDENT MUAMAR GADDAFI.

The bombardment of intended targets in Libya by the Allied forces begun immediately after the violation of the ceasefire. USA Aircraft Carries in both the Mideterrenean sea and the atlantic Ocean have constantly supported the Allied forces and also devastated targets inside Libya. As a result the Libyan forces positions in and around areas they have recaptured have been weakened enabling the rebels to recapture the areas around Ajdabiya and Benghazi. However, the areas in and around Tripoli have been strongly fortified by the Libyan forces loyal to President Muamar Gaddafi. Farther advancement of both the rebels with the Allied forces towards Tripoli could mean higher casualties and repulsion of both the occupation forces and the rebel forces.
